Scholarship Challenge

Lee Alumni and Friends Association would like to express its sincere appreciation to the class of 1962, who, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of their graduation, donated $1200 to the LAFA scholarship fund: ($600 was raised at the reunion and an additional $600 in donations subsequent to the gathering).

The donation will be presented in 2013 as the Class of '62 Blackburn, Brown, Plunkett Memorial Scholarship. This grant to a graduating senior will be the first named scholarship from an alumni class through the auspices of LAFA. The class of 1962 is the first graduating class which had the opportunity to attend Lee High School for four years and is the first class to have a 50-year reunion. Congratulations and thank you for your generosity!

LAFA is hopeful that the memorial scholarship donated by the class of 1962 will inspire other classes to raise scholarship funds to be named for their class or in honor of its member(s) or some other cause.

LAFA will continue to raise funds and award annual scholarships just as it has been doing since 1999. Herein we challenge other classes to raise funds of $1,000 or more toward a named scholarship, which LAFA will administer. If the class donates less than $1,000, the funds will be deposited into LAFA's scholarship fund and the class’s contribution to the scholarship will be acknowledged at the June senior awards ceremony.
