Craig Kawamoto

A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind


We regret to inform all of the Alumni and the class of 1967 that Craig Akio Kawamoto, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

He passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of his family and friends. His memory will be cherished by his parents Yukio and Sayoko Kawamoto; his devoted wife Cindy; his son Ryan and wife Kelby; his daughter Dru and husband Jon. Loving grandfather of Hardin, Brecken and Lucas. Dog grandfather to Kingsley and Spencer. Also survived by his sister Sherin Ferguson (Allen), brothers Don (Margaret) and Brian (Robin); in-laws Jean Ankney (Rick), Jay Berry (Patti), and Elizabeth Cross (David), and nieces and nephews.

Craig was born in Berkley, California on March 11, 1949. He was raised in Springfield, Virginia and was a graduate of the University of Virginia and Wake Forest Law School. He had a successful career as an Attorney for over 40 years. First and foremost Craig was devoted to his wife and family. He was kind, funny, loyal, and humble. Craig had such a generous spirit and always put others first. He made friends with everyone he met. He had a passion for playing with his grandkids, fishing, movies, and Washington sports. Craig, aka Deda, was the best man we ever knew and will forever be in our hearts.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday June 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and are invited to a celebration of Craig’s life on Saturday June 9th promptly at 4:00 PM at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home.
