It is
with great sadness that we inform all Lee Alumni that Gene
Singleton passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016.
Gene
Preston Singleton was a teacher until the end. His passion was his
students and the world of the written word. Gene was brought into
the world on October 29, 1935 in Ashland, KY.
He
was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Russell and nine
brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Patty
(Conklin/Walker); daughter, Kimberly Schwinn; and four
grandchildren, Gary Schwinn, Ryan (Taylor) Neiswender, Matthew
Neiswender and Jennifer (Rusty) Simpson; niece, Donna Baker;
great-niece, Karen (Robert) Rhoton; and numerous nieces and nephews;
step daughters, Laura (Ed) Roberts, Ruth (Jesse) Walker, Beth
(Steve) Seipel; grandchildren, Nichole (Ben) Adler, Adam Roberts,
Emily Snyder and Noah Seipel; and his beloved little black dog,
McDougal "Doogie".
Funeral Service was held 11 a.m. MONDAY, JANUARY 2, 2017 at ST. PAUL
LUTHERAN CHURCH, 55 Pasadena Avenue, Columbus, OH 43228
(614)-878-4715 with Pastor Bill McKee, officiating.
Burial with Military Honors immediately followed the service at
Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. After the burial service, the family
returned to the church to greet family and friends. In honor of
Gene's love of children and animals, if they choose, friends may
make memorial contributions to: St. Jude Children's Research
