State executes Marine's Killer

Nashville-- Tennessee yesterday executed a man convicted of killing a young female marine in 1985.  It was the second time the state has used capital punishment in about 30 years.
Officials at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution said Sedley Alley, 50, was pronounced dead at 3:12 a.m. after an injection of lethal chemicals.  Alley was the second person executed in the state since the Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976.
He was convicted of the murder of Marine Lance Corporal Suzanne
Collins, 19, who was abducted, raped and killed while jogging near a naval air station close to Memphis.
