Denise Amber Lowery, class of 1991, passed on Saturday,
September 24, 2005.

Denise Amber Lowery, 32, a
finance officer with local auto dealers, died Sept. 24 while attending
her cousin's wedding at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
She had heart disease.
Ms. Lowery, a native of
Alexandria, had a congenital heart condition. She had a mitral valve
replacement at age 12 and had a pacemaker implanted when she was 16.
She received a new pacemaker this year. Nonetheless, her mother said,
"she was very determined to lead as normal a life as
possible."
Ms. Lowery graduated from Lee
High School in Springfield in 1991 and attended George Mason
University and Northern Virginia Community College. She was a
bartender while attending college.
She began her career in 1993
with the National Association of Retail Druggists in Alexandria. In
1994, she became a finance officer and accountant with Rosenthal
Infiniti-Nissan-Mazda of Tysons Corner. In 2004, she joined Land Rover
Alexandria as a finance officer, overseeing warranties and tag and
title registration.
After living in Franconia for
most of her life, Ms. Lowery moved to Ashburn in 2003. Her interests
included drag racing and attending concerts by Jimmy Buffett.
Survivors include her mother,
Brenda Sue Brittain of Fairfax County; her father and stepmother,
Daniel Louis Lowery and Barbara Lowery, both of Stafford; her
grandmother, Bertha Lee Mason of Fairfax; a stepbrother, Gratton Earl
"E.J." Dent Jr. of Fairfax; and a stepsister, Brandy
Saunders of Nokesville.
