Obituary


Hunter Joseph Benedict

Art teacher at RELHS from the sixties through the seventies:
Hunter Joseph Benedict, age 76, of Richmond, formerly of Crewe, died Monday, September 26, 2005. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Benedict of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Benedict of Roanoke, Va., and Eleanor DePrator of North Carolina; one nephew, James Krcek; nine nieces, Kathleen Kuzyk, Mary Wood, Jane Hamlett, Bonnie Brown, Rebecca Cline, Cathy Babb, Pam Zieber, Libby Hood and Ellen Kincheloe. Mr. Benedict graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1958, and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, serving as president for two years. He was a retired school teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools, and was a member of the Jamestowne Society and Clan Munro, USA and Scotland. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 29, at Crewe Cemetery.
