We are sorry to inform the class of '67 and whole Lee community that
Linda Emert Tomblin, of Locust Grove, Virginia, died on Saturday
February 26, 2011.
Linda was born on Jan. 30,
1949, in Williamsport, Pa., and was raised in Springfield. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Margaret Emert; and her
brother, Gary Emert.
She is survived by her loving
husband, Franklin "Tommy" Tomblin; her devoted daughter,
Leslie and husband Lee Elliott; and her devoted son, Troy Kearns and
wife Trisha, all of Locust Grove. She was also the proud grandmother
of Christopher Elliott and girlfriend Jessica Largen; Justin Elliott
and girlfriend Kasey Blackwell, Ryan Kearns and Michael Land. She is
also survived by her sister, Karen Emert; her brother, Scott Emert and
his wife, Julie; and her nephew and niece, Spencer and Sara Emert. In
addition, she is survived by her very best friend, Pamela Bryant of
Locust Grove; and by Cindy Reney of Lorton, who was like a daughter to
her.
Linda loved everyone. She was
known to many as "Grandma." She loved spending time with
family and friends. She will be remembered by all for her smile, her
giving ways and her beautiful, loving spirit. She was always there to
provide a helping hand to all who needed it.
A celebration of Linda's life
was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Johnson Funeral Home in
Locust Grove.

contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
