In Memoriam

Stephen Bond

A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind

It is with deepest regrets, that we must inform all R.E. Lee High School Alumni and the Class of 1967, that Stephen Bond passed away Monday the 7th of January, 2013 at the age of 64.

Stephen Edward Bond, 64, of Ft. Myers, FL, suffered a heart attack and was taken to heaven on Monday, January 7, 2013.

Stephen is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kathleen Ann Bond; his son, Joseph (wife Jodi); his father, George Thomas Bond, Jr.; his sister Gloria (husband Bob); his brothers George (wife Ricki) and Michael; and his extended family, residing in Florida, Northern Virginia, Delaware, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.

He is predeceased by his son, Matthew; his mother, Gloria Bond; and his sister, Jane. Stephen spent most of his life in Northern Virginia where he graduated from Lee High School in Springfield. After graduation, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam, before embarking upon a long and successful career with the Postal Service. He dearly loved his family and was joyfully anticipating the birth of his and Kathy's first grandchild.

Stephen's infectious smile revealed his inner warmth, kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, and humor. He had a passion for life, travel, and fitness. Throughout his life, Stephen was devoted to NASCAR, the Washington Redskins, and Virginia Tech football. Most of all, however, he loved and devoted himself to Kathy, Matthew, Joe and Jodi, and his schnauzer, Tony.
